Story Wood - Pens That Have a Story - Part 3

In the 1940’s Iris’s brother was a carpenter and made her a beautiful dressing table from Australian red cedar timber. The dressing table spent many decades holding hairbrushes, perfume, doilies, a crystal vase and embroidered handkerchiefs. When Iris passed away, the dresser was inherited by her daughter, Gail. Gail didn't have room in her home for the old but still lovely dressing table, but wanted to preserve her family heritage so she had pens made from the vintage red cedar timber for herself and her three children (Iris’s grandchildren) and and her grand children  (Iris’s great grandchildren). Gail then donated the rest of the beautiful red cedar timber to Veridian Pen Studio. This vintage Australian red cedar is the darkest, reddest Australian red cedar we have ever encountered and as it is so spectacular, it has become one of our top selling timbers for custom pens.

We still have a limited amount of this delightful timber (which can be made into any pen style) but here are links to some of our most popular listings in Story Woods: Recycled dressing table in red cedar.
