Australian Red Cedar Timber

Australian red cedar is possibly Australia's most celebrated native timber with its very fine grain in reddish brown and fine dark brown striations along the grain. Unfortunately many of the tall strands of red cedar were decimated on the NSW coast during the first 100 years of colonisation. In 1795 it was Australia’s first export, sending ships back to England full of timber. Red cedar is still highly sought after and readily available in North Queensland.
