Black Heart Sassafras Timber

Blackheart sassafras is a tree native to Australia. The timber is grey to golden brown with a very fine grain. Some blackheart sassafras trees are infected with a fungus which causes very attractive smokey grey streaks within the timber. The bark of the blackheart sassafras tree is aromatic and was used for brewing sassafras beer.
