Bottlebrush

The bottlebrush is a stunning native flowering shrub named for its bright red bottlebrush shaped flowers. These unusual flowers attract small parrots such as lorikeets as well as butterflies and bees. Bottlebrush timber is a light to mid brown with slight pink tones, it is a dense, closely-grained wood which polishes well.

The bottlebrush flower is painted on bottlebrush timber but another timber can be chosen, lease let us know your choice in the notes section.

Wattle

Wattle flowers are like little rays of sunshine perched on branches. The clusters of golden yellow pompom blossoms dazzle and delight. Wattle is the national flower of Australia. Black wattle timber is a native Australian hardwood timber which ranges in colour from light golden-brown to deep-brown sometimes with a reddish tint, often with black or golden streaks. In some areas the Aboriginal People used black wattle timber to make clap sticks.

The wattle flowers are painted on black wattle timber, but another timber can be chosen, please let us know your choice in the notes section.

Eucalyptus

Nothing says iconic Australia like a eucalyptus tree. Gum blossoms come in a kaleidoscope of colours such as yellows, oranges, reds, pinks, lime greens and purples. Eucalyptus timber is commonly used to make didgeridoos, the traditional wind instrument of indigenous Australians. Eucalyptus is a valuable timber, and is highly regarded for pulpwood, honey production, dye making and essential oils. Eucalypts are important koala food.

The gum blossoms are painted on eucalyptus timber but another timber can be chosen, please let us know your choice in the notes section.s
