Australian Red Cedar Timber

This rollerball pen is created from Australian red cedar. Australian red cedar is possibly Australia's most celebrated native timber with its very fine grain in reddish brown and fine dark brown striations along the grain. In the 19th century red cedar dominated the interiors of colonial Australia and was used extravagantly for fine furniture and joinery in places such as Government House and Sydney Town Hall. Unfortunately many of the tall strands of red cedar were decimated on the NSW coast during the first 100 years of colonisation. In 1795 it was Australia’s first export, sending ships back to England full of timber. Red cedar is still highly sought after and readily available in North Queensland.

Personalisation: We personalise timber pens and wooden pen boxes via laser engraving and hot foil emboss leather pen boxes. In the text box provided:

• Pen laser engraving: 20 letters and spaces max. Engraving is done on the timber underneath the lacquer. Please specify if it is for a left or right hander.
• Timber box laser engraving: 50 letters and spaces max (logo, symbols or line drawings are OK).
• Embossing leather pen box: maximum of 5 letters.
• We will contact you to confirm your personalisation prior to it being complete.
