Crushed Australian Opals and Mallee Burl Timber

Australian opals are glorious and flash their colours boldly.  Opals are formed when silica-rich water and sediment seeps into deep cracks and voids in rocks becoming opalised. The tiny silica spheres work like ‘prisms’ and flash colours.  We have taken opals, carefully crushing them, meticulously nestling them next to beautiful Australian mallee timber burl. Once set in place the blank is turned on the wood lathe and polished to a spectacular crystal clear shine. The pen pictured is not the pen you will receive but it will be just as stunning and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the makers.  A beautiful Australian gemstone souvenir.

Personalisation: We can laser engrave the mallee burl section of this pen or we can personalise an engrave-able timber box. in the text box provided:

• Pen laser engraving: 20 letters and spaces max. Engraving is done on the timber underneath the lacquer. Please specify if it is for a left or right hander.
• Timber box laser engraving: 50 letters and spaces max (logo, symbols or line drawings are OK).
